SCRIPTWRITING
Characterizing the Heart
To protect my work from being stolen, I have not included the pdfs of my full scripts in this section. However, I have included samples for a few of the scripts; click on the image next to those scripts' descriptions to read them. If you're interested in reading any full pieces, please feel free to contact me (see Contact page) and ask for a copy! Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

FUN FACT: This stage play won 2nd place in The 2022 PRISM Writing & Art Contest for the technical, professional, or script category. The script is published in the PRISM 2022 literary journal available here.
A Date with Jesus
Aimee is going on her first date in years. She just so happens to be going on a date with a celebrity: Jesus Christ himself. Or is it?
This is a stage drama that I crafted in my Introduction to Creative Writing course. I'm a sucker for romantic comedies, so I wanted to utilize that genre and create my own play. In the past, I've heard people use the phrase "I'm dating Jesus." So, I brought that to life in "A Date with Jesus." It has the perfect combination of romance, comedy, drama, and miracles.
This script is 10 pages long, about a 10-minute stage play.
Cigar Smoke
After a long day at work, Howard comes home to his wife, Lydia. She's been watching the news and there's a building fire happening downtown. Howard's acting a little shady. Are the fire and Howard's odd attitude related? And if so, why?
"Cigar Smoke" is another stage drama I wrote for my Introduction to Creative Writing course. This play is dark and holds a lot of tension throughout. I wanted this story to focus on unhealthy marriages in the working class around the 50-60s era, but with modern language. Drama is a genre I feel captures an audience's attention with all of the emotions that the characters deal with.

Capn Crunch Commercial
Yes, another cereal commercial. And it's sillier than ever.
This "Capn Crunch Commercial" script was an assignment given in my Scriptwriting course at Ferris. I remember always watching silly cereal commercials when I was little. So, I wanted to create my own. I still eat this sugary cereal as an adult. Because of this, I made the commercial script appealing for the adult cereal-lover audience as well.
I created this script using the A/V (or Two Column) format.
The Senior Prank
High school misfit Addie DuPont and her misunderstood pals work together to come up with the best senior prank West Brook High has ever seen. After recruiting her mortal enemy, Chad Brosnick, and leading the ultimate prank, celebrating comes to a halt when expulsion becomes a school-wide threat.
For my final project in my Scriptwriting course, I had to write a 15-page short film script. I chose to make a story with a similar style to "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," a fun 80s movie for teens and young adults. I wanted it to be silly yet make a statement. So, the main character's clique is a bunch of edgy, misunderstood teens who want to leave a legacy behind. I think the script turned out to be a funny, spontaneous idea for a great short film.
For this script, I used the Master Scene format with the StudioBinder screenwriting software. The script is about 16 pages long.
